Job Introduction

Training

We don’t expect you to know everything when you join Gray Healthcare! We provide an initial week of training which is a combination of online training (company induction, systems, meds etc.) followed by in-person training on PROACT-SCIPr-UK which is a PBS approach to least restrictive practice, a therapeutic and proven alternative to restraint-dominant approaches. You will then complete the person-centred training, specific to the person that you are supporting. This could be PBS, epilepsy, ligature etc. and finally, you’ll complete shadow shifts.

Training continues throughout your time with Gray Healthcare and we encourage you to develop and grow your career with us.

Hours

We are looking for people to work 3 x 12-hour shifts - 8am to 8pm and be on the back-up rota.

About you

  • We are looking for people who have worked in social care previously, ideally with autism experience.
  • You must have current Right to Work in the UK and have been employed in the UK for at least 6 months. We are unable to offer sponsorship.

Recruitment Process

  1. Telephone interview with specialist recruiter to go through the role in more detail and find out more about you and why you have applied.
  2. TEAMS interview with Community Support Manager
  3. Compliance & Background checks including employment references, Right To Work checks and Enhanced DBS.

Main Responsibility

As a Support Worker, you will be key in supporting adult’s with complex needs within their own home and within the community. We are looking for positive, compassionate, and caring support workers who have the right values and attitude to grow and develop with Gray healthcare.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for candidates who share our values, understand the importance of a consistent and empathetic approach, whilst staying calm and professional when presented with a pressurised situation.  

We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience as a Support Worker within Learning Disabilities and Schizophrenia.

 

Package Description

Gray Healthcare are looking for support workers to provide support to a lady in her 50’s who has a diagnosis of treatment resistant Schizophrenia.

We support the lady on 1:1 basis within her own home in Lincoln. 

The person we support has many hobbies and interests, she has a love of music and likes to have a good dance! She likes to access the community with support, to enjoy activities such a bit of retail therapy.

The lady loves to take pride in her appearance and has a lovely happy demeanour.
