Job Introduction

I am a young man in my 20’s, living in my own home in Crewe, Cheshire.  I have a diagnosis of a Learning Disability, Autism and Epilepsy, as a result, I presents with a range of behaviours typical of those with sensory integration issues and Autism.  I’m looking for a Team Manager to support my staff team to ensure I am supported to stay safe and well in my own home.  I have 3 support staff with me during the day and 2 staff with me at night and the key to helping me become more independent and learn new skills is for my team to be consistent.

I need you to be;

My predominant form of communication is not verbal. Staff will need to be trained in using PECs to support me to make choices and to support me with my daily routine.  Gray Healthcare offer this training to ensure my team can support me appropriately.

I prefer quieter environments, and at times I can present with behaviours perceived as challenging, I have developed these over time, as a way of communicating my needs.

I struggle to understand time, or how long an activity lasts. Staff supporting the use of sand timers can help me understand how long I should participate in a given activity.
