The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for candidates who share our values, understand the importance of a consistent and empathetic approach, whilst staying calm and professional when presented with a pressurised situation.  

We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience as a Support Worker within Learning Disabilities and Autism. The person supported is non-verbal, so staff will need to have an understanding of using PECS, Makaton or First/Then Boards and have experience of epilepsy also behaviours that are perceived to be challenging. 

You will have an interest, motivation, and enthusiasm to develop experience and skills to work with people with complex needs. Ideally you will have at least Level 3 in Health and Social Care or a willingness to work towards the qualification within Gray Healthcare. 

Package Description

Gray Healthcare are looking for support workers to support a gentleman on a 2:1 basis to work towards the next chapter of his life. He has a diagnosis of Autism, Learning Disabilities and Epilepsy. The person supported enjoys going out for long walks, watching DVDs and visits with his family who are very important to him and visit often.

The vacancy is 36 hours comprising 3 x 12-hour days plus 1 x  12-hour sleep (paid 10 hours £9.50, 2 hours £10.70).
