Job Introduction

Training

We don’t expect you to know everything when you join Gray Healthcare! We provide an initial week of training which is a combination of online training (company induction, systems, meds etc.) followed by in-person training on PROACT-SCIPr-UK which is a PBS approach to least restrictive practice, a therapeutic and proven alternative to restraint-dominant approaches. You will then complete the person-centred training, specific to the person that you are supporting. This could be PBS, epilepsy, ligature etc. and finally, you’ll complete shadow shifts.

Training continues throughout your time with Gray Healthcare and we encourage you to develop and grow your career with us.

About you

  • We are looking for people who have worked in social care previously, ideally with autism or learning disability experience.
  • You must have current Right to Work in the UK and have 6 month's experience within a healthcare setting in the UK.

Recruitment Process

  1. Telephone interview with specialist recruiter to go through the role in more detail and find out more about you and why you have applied.
  2. TEAMS interview with Community Support Manager
  3. Compliance & Background checks including employment references, Right To Work checks and Enhanced DBS.

The Ideal Candidate

About you

We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience as a Support Worker within Autism, Learning Disabilities, ADHD, Mental Health.

We are looking for candidates who share our values, understand the importance of a consistent and empathetic approach, whilst staying calm and professional when presented with a pressurised situation. You need to be a team player with effective communication skills, be experienced in using digital records and care plans, and electronic rostering systems.

Package Description

Gray Healthcare has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Male Waking Night Support Worker's to join their team in Telford, supporting a gentleman with a mild learning disability, Schizo-Affective disorder and Epilepsy.

The person supported has a great sense of humour, loves chatting and spending time with people. He especially enjoys shopping and going out for lunch especially chips and gravy!

He loves to listen to music especially Ministry of Sound and loves to share a story or two of his past!

The support is provided in a house in Telford, Shropshire and the team is 3-to-1 support by a mixed team of both male and female Support Workers.  

The vacancy is for 36/42 hours comprising 3 x 12 or 4 x 12 hour waking night shifts running from 8am- 8pm.
