Male Support Worker - Learning Disabilities

MALE ONLY (full driving licence required)

Contracted 12 hours per week (1 x 12-hour days) plus 1 sleep paid at £100

 

What are we looking for?

As a Support Worker, you will be key in supporting an adult’s complex needs within their own home and within the community. We are looking for positive, compassionate, and caring male Support Workers who have the right values and attitude to grow and develop with Gray Healthcare.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience as a Support Worker within Learning Disabilities, Epilepsy and Mental health.  You will also possess an NVQ/QCF 3 or willingness to complete the qualification with Gray Healthcare.

You will have a proven track record in this highly rewarding field, with the skills to deal with multiple and complex needs of people. You will be able to manage difficult situations calmly and are able to work within prescribed interventions that provide Trauma Informed approaches.

You will need to be resilient, emotionally, and physically fit to do this role. As well as being able to work flexibly on a rota basis which will include earlies, lates, sleep ins, weekends, bank holidays and be part of a backup rota.

 

Who will you support?

I am a 53 year old gentleman with Epilepsy due to having Tuberous Sclerosis (none cancerous lumps on brain and kidneys), Mental Health and Learning Disabilities.  I live in my own home, I am looking for male Support Workers who can help me to reach my potential in life.

I love all the holiday seasons and enjoy the build up to them where I can shop for presents for my family / decorations for my house.  I am well known in the local community and enjoy going out in my mobility car to the shops and cafes.  I also have a family caravan in Wales that I enjoy visiting regularly. I also go on holiday to Blackpool once a year in September so I can go the fair and go on the Ghost train.

 

I will need your support to help keep me safe and empower me to work towards my goals. I would like to be supported by people who are person centred in their approaches, who are also motivating, patient and non-judgemental so I can achieve maximum independence. I will challenge and push boundaries as a test to see if you will stay
