Male Support Worker (Driver)

Job Introduction

We are seeking patient and experienced male Support Worker within the Liverpool area with an ABI and Autism background. This is to support a gentleman who is enthusiastic in watching football and attending matches locally in my mobility car on a weekend. They are well known in the local community and enjoy going for walks and to the local shops.

They would like support from someone who can help them reach their potential in life, who is motivating and non-judgemental towards me

You must have experience of:

  • Providing encouragement to a person with complex health needs and Learning Disabilities. 
  • Behaviours that may be perceived as concerning within the UK
  • Implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments.

Gray Healthcare are different to most care providers in that that we are clinically informed. This means that there is a team of clinicians including nurses, occupational therapists, and Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) specialists involved in developing the care and approach for each person that we support.

This provides more of a direction to the support teams; It is an inclusive approach that is proven to work to improve the lives and outcomes of the people that we support

Hours

We have the following contracts available (Must be available to work the full 12 hours) 

Contract 24 Hours - 2 x 12 Days and 1 Sleep @ £100 per sleep 

Training

We do not expect you to know everything when you join Gray Healthcare!

We provide an initial week of training which is a combination of online training. (Company induction, systems, and Medication.)

Followed by in-person training on PROACT-SCIPr-UK which is a PBS approach to least restrictive practice, this is a therapeutic and proven alternative to restraint dominate approaches. You will then complete the person-centred training, specific to the person that you are supporting. This could be PBS, epilepsy, ligature etc. and finally, you will complete shadow shifts.

 About You:

Ideally you will be enthusiastic and live an accessible distance to the Liverpool Region. You will have previous experience working Social Care, with experience of lone working and supporting vulnerable individuals with an ABI, Autism and Learning Disabilities.

Drivers Required - Full British Driving License or an International License

You must have current Right to Work in the UK and have 6 months Health care experience in the UK.

  • Assessment Day with key team members including clinical and current support staff. This is a valuable opportunity to really find out more about the role and Gray Healthcare.
  • Compliance & Background checks including employment references, Right to Work checks and Enhanced DBS.
  • An enhanced DBS is required. If you are not on the Update Service, we will reimburse the cost of a new DBS after 1 month probation review.
