Male Support Worker (Bank)

Job Introduction

Drivers Required - Full British Driving License or an International License

We currently are seeking outgoing and resilient male bank Support Workers, within in the Liverpool region. You will join a specialist team supporting individuals within their own home with a person-centred approach. 

Our specialist teams are always striving to go the extra mile to provide outstanding support to allow the PWS to achieve their goals. Throughout the packages there are varied diagnosis's like: Learning Disability, Autism, Personality Disorders, Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Substance Misuse issues so having experienced would be desirable.  

People we support are cared for by a male only team on a 1-2-1 basis, being used to lone working is essential.  

You must have experience of :

Providing encouragement to a person with complex health needs.

Behaviours that may be perceived as concerning within the UK

As well as experience in implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments.

Gray Healthcare are different to most care providers in that that we are clinically informed this means that there is a team of clinicians including nurses, occupational therapists, and Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) specialists involved in developing the care and approach for each person that we support.

This provides more direction to the support teams; it is an inclusive approach that is proven to work to improve the lives and outcomes of the people that we support. 

Training

We don’t expect you to know everything when you join Gray Healthcare!

We provide an initial week of training which is a combination of online training (company induction, systems and meds) 

Followed by in-person training on PROACT-SCIPr-UK which is a PBS approach to least restrictive practice, this is a therapeutic and proven alternative to restraint dominat approaches.You will then complete the person-centred training, specific to the person that you are supporting. This could be PBS, epilepsy, ligature etc. and finally, you’ll complete shadow shifts.

About You:

Ideally you will be enthusiastic and live an accessible distance to the Liverpool Region.You will have previous experience working Social Care, with experience of lone working and supporting vulnerable individuals with complex mental health diagnosis in various settings.

We understand that being on bank, is to fit around existing commitments. However, working as a team is important to ensure that is suitable coverage for all shifts and a continuity of support. 

Drivers Required - Full British Driving License or an International License

You must have current Right to Work in the UK and have 6 months Health care experience in the UK.

Recruitment Process

  2. TEAMS interview or Face to Face interview with the Community Support Manager
  3. Compliance & Background checks including employment references, Right to Work checks and Enhanced DBS.
