Job Introduction

He has a diagnosis of Learning Disability, Autism and Epilepsy, as a result, he presents with a range of behaviours typical of those with sensory integration issues and autism. The person supported is looking for support workers to help him to stay safe in his own home. He is supported by 2 staff during the day and 2 staff overnight.

The young gentleman's predominant form of communication is non-verbal. Staff will need to be trained in using PECs to support him to make choices and to support him throughout his daily routines.

At times he can present with behaviours perceived as challenging, as a way of communicating his needs.
