Male Bank Support Worker

Main Responsibility

As a Bank Support Worker, you will be key in supporting adults with complex needs within their own home and within the community. We are looking for positive, compassionate, and caring support workers who have the right values and attitude to grow and develop with Gray Healthcare. We are looking for support workers who are looking for the flexibility to choose their shifts and would like to join our skilled pool of bank workers.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a support worker who has experience in supporting individuals who are nonverbal, and is on Autism Spectrum. Ideally, be confident and have a positive outlook along with being a good communicator which will beneficial when encouraging independences. 

  • We are looking for people who have worked in social care previously, ideally with autism experience.
  • You must have current Right to Work in the UK and have 6 month's Healthcare Experience within in the United Kingdom.

Package Description

Gray Healthcare are looking for an Male Support Worker within in the Redditch and Bromsgrove Area to positively support and engage with a young man who is nonverbal and has an diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. The individual we support lives in his own home and is slowly improving his ability to gain independence by going for walks and spending time out in the car and spending time with his family.

That means that there is a team of clinicians including nurses, occupational therapists and Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) specialists involved in developing the care and approach for each person that we support. Training

We don’t expect you to know everything when you join Gray Healthcare! We provide an initial week of training which is a combination of online training (company induction, systems, meds etc.) followed by in-person training on PROACT-SCIPr-UK which is a PBS approach to least restrictive practice, a therapeutic and proven alternative to restraint-dominant approaches. You will then complete the person-centred training, specific to the person that you are supporting. This could be PBS, epilepsy, ligature etc. and finally, you’ll complete shadow shifts.
