Job Introduction

Training

We don’t expect you to know everything when you join Gray Healthcare! We provide an initial week of training which is a combination of online training (company induction, systems, meds etc.) followed by in-person training on PROACT-SCIPr-UK which is a PBS approach to least restrictive practice, a therapeutic and proven alternative to restraint-dominant approaches. You will then complete the person-centred training, specific to the person that you are supporting. This could be PBS, epilepsy, ligature etc. and finally, you’ll complete shadow shifts.

Training continues throughout your time with Gray Healthcare and we encourage you to develop and grow your career with us.

Hours

We are looking for people to work 2 or 3 x 12-hour shifts - 8am to 8pm and be on the back-up rota.

About you

  • We are looking for people who have worked in social care previously, ideally with autism experience.
  • You must have current Right to Work in the UK and have been employed in the UK for at least 6 months. We are unable to offer sponsorship.

Recruitment Process

  1. Telephone interview with specialist recruiter to go through the role in more detail and find out more about you and why you have applied.
  2. TEAMS interview with Community Support Manager
  3. Compliance & Background checks including employment references, Right To Work checks and Enhanced DBS.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for candidates who share our values, understand the importance of a consistent and empathetic approach, whilst staying calm and professional when presented with a pressurised situation. You need to be a team player with effective communication skills, be experienced in using digital records and care plans, and electronic rostering systems.

You will need to possess an NVQ/QCF Level 3 or equivalent, or be willing to work towards. You will be motivated and have a can-do attitude, and work within a Positive Behaviour Support Framework.

Must be willing to be part of a back up rota.

Package Description

Gray Healthcare are looking for friendly female support worker's to support a gentleman in his 50’s living in his own home, who has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition. He has spent a lot of his adult life in hospital settings but has now successfully moved into his own property in Whitegate, Cheshire, with the support of Gray Healthcare.

The person supported is a sociable man and he enjoys socialising with people, so it would be great to have staff who are also chatty and outgoing. He has a very good sense of humour and he enjoys sticking to his routines. The person we support would benefit from staff who can positively motivate him to keep him engaged with his daily routines and to stay active.
