Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, 37.5 hours per week

Introduction to the role of Compliance Officer:
Our goal is to ensure an outstanding recruitment experience for all parties involved.
The Compliance Officer is crucial to this process, offering assistance with all facets of new employee onboarding and administration.
It is essential to uphold high standards of professional customer service and data accuracy while serving as the initial point of contact for employees, managers and candidates.
Key job responsibilities of the Compliance Officer include:
- Manage the onboarding process for all applications
- Complete pre-employment checks including DBS checks, RTW checks, references and pre-employment health declarations in line with employment law and CQC guidelines
- Maintain a database of candidates currently and previously onboard
- Use of applicant tracking system to process, issue, and maintain documents relating to candidates
- Ensuring documentation received from new starters is correct
- Maintain effective systems for processing / monitoring the Disclosure & Barring Service and Overseas Police Checks
- Obtaining employment, personal and academic references
- Ensure all files and records are kept up to date
- Update live Excel trackers in relation to starters / non starters
- Compile onboarding files for audit
- Liaise with managers and successful candidates to ensure the new starter process is managed efficiently.
- Liaise with hiring managers regarding candidates start, induction and pre-booked holidays
- Generation of weekly and monthly reports to update managers / SLT on candidates’ onboarding status
- Respond appropriately to telephone, email and written enquiries and information requests.
- Ensure all new starter and new appointment information is sent to HR within agreed deadlines
- Ensure administrative processes are completed accurately, including the issue of Contracts, Employee Handbooks and other correspondence.
- Being first point of contact for all new starter-related queries, providing advice and support, when necessary.
- Liaising with L&D, Payroll, and HR teams to ensure processes align and a smooth new starter experience
- Ensure all new starters are added to Payroll each month.
- Send Compliance files to Payroll and Onboarding files to HR departments
- Maintain accurate recruitment records in line with GDPR
- Booking new starters onto Induction training and liaising with L&D team to ensure attendance
Essential skills, knowledge and experience required:
- Minimum of 2 years experience of high volume recruitment onboarding within Health & Social care
- Experience working with an Applicant Tracking System
- Strong administrative experience
- Able to work in a pro-active way and on own initiative, without close supervision
- Able to work as part of a team and contribute to shared goals
- Ability to work in a customer focussed environment
- Ability to prioritise workload and work in an organised way to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing to a variety of audiences
- Experience of developing good working relationships with colleagues or customers
- Experience of working with confidential information and an understanding of GDPR
- Experience of using MS Office for processing letters, spreadsheets or other documentation
- Ability to set up and maintain readily accessible filing systems
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Desirable:
- Understanding of CQC recruitment requirements
- An understanding of employment law as it applies to recruitment and contracts
