Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

We are looking for a Support Worker from the Telford or Shrewsbury area to support a young gentleman who has mild learning disabilities and autism

The person we support enjoys going out in the car, being outdoors in a safe environment and participating in activities such as swimming and using his trampoline. It is beneficial that individuals have a focused mindset in prompting this gentleman to allow them to develop new skills to gain more independence

This gentleman is nonverbal therefore being adaptable to eliminate the communication barrier would be essential in the support being provided

They respond well to Makaton, Gestures, and body language.

You must have experience of providing support to a person with learning disabilities or autism and behaviours that may be perceived as challenging within the UK as well as experience of understanding and implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments.

Gray Healthcare are different to most care providers in that that we are clinically informed.

That means that there is a team of clinicians including nurses, occupational therapists, and Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) specialists involved in developing the care and approach for each person that we support.

This provides more direction to the Support teams: It is an inclusive approach that is proven to work to improve the lives and outcomes of the people that we support.
